B.K.M. Regd. Educational Society, Balachaur, Distt. S.B.S. Nagar, has been serving the cause of higher education in the backward areas of Punjab since 5th July 1978. This institution is one of the most prestigious institutes in the area. Thousands of students have been educated here and are now settled in India and abroad.
Sh. S.K. Sharma is the Chairman of the society. The society was established in the memory of his revered grandmother Smt. Bhagwanti and his brother Sh. Kewal Krishan in 1978. The peerless dream of the Chairman, Sh. S.K. Sharma, and the other society members—to provide uncommon education to the common man—has been translated into reality in the form of this college, it aims at inculcating the desirable values among the students such as responsible citizenship, secularism, democracy, and selfless service to the economically and educationally weaker sections of society.
This institution is recognized by NCTE and is affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh. The D.El.Ed (ETT) course is also recognized by NCTE and affiliated to SCERT. The B.Ed course (100 seats) and D.El.Ed (ETT) course (50 seats) are currently running in the institution.
